Woolworths recently revealed their exciting collaboration with Disney in honour of Disney’s 100th anniversary. The supermarket announced the launch of the “Disney 100 Wonders Collector Cards” scheme, a new collectables program. Similar to previous collectables initiatives, this program allows shoppers to collect three cards for every $30 they spend in-store or online.
Starting from July 26, customers can begin collecting the 100 character cards featuring beloved Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters such as Mickey Mouse, Woody, Captain Marvel, and Grogu. Additionally, customers have the opportunity to earn extra packs of cards by purchasing select products, with a limit of three bonus packs per participating brand per shopping trip. Woolworths will provide a list of participating brands and products, along with the program’s terms and conditions on their website.
Paul Stibbard, Woolworths Senior Manager of Collectibles and Continuity, expressed enthusiasm for the new initiative, stating that it allows customers to bring home a special treat during their regular grocery shopping. He highlighted that Disney’s iconic characters have a broad appeal across all age groups, making the collectables program a delightful reward for card collectors.
This latest collectable program continues Woolworths’ long-standing partnerships with Disney, which have included successful initiatives like Disney Words, Lion King, Disney+ Ooshies, and Fix-emsTM.
Tim Everett, Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Products Commercialization at The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, expressed pride in their enduring collaboration with Woolworths. He mentioned that celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary provides a unique opportunity to launch a collectable that honors the rich history, stories, and characters of Disney. Mr. Everett looks forward to witnessing how Woolworths’ customers celebrate by building their collections of Disney 100 Wonders Collector Cards.
Notably, the new collector cards are environmentally conscious, being kerbside recyclable and made from FSC certified paper. They are also printed with water-soluble inks and a water-soluble coating, showcasing Woolworths and Disney’s commitment to sustainability.
