Supermarket Torched in Third Deliberate Attack

A Western Sydney supermarket has been deliberately set on fire for the third time in less than two months, sparking serious concerns in the local community.

Emergency services were called to Mount Pritchard Supermarket on Meadows Road around 2am on Friday following reports of a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, authorities found a black sedan had smashed into the shopfront and been intentionally set alight. The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

Residents living in apartments above and around the shop were disturbed by the loud crash, which marked the latest in a string of targeted incidents against the business.

The blaze, which was brought under control within 40 minutes by Fire and Rescue NSW, caused significant damage to the premises. No injuries were reported, but at least one resident was evacuated from the building for safety.

This is the third suspicious incident involving the same supermarket in just six weeks. On 25 April, an arsonist poured petrol at the front of the store and set it alight. Then, on 6 May, a utility vehicle crashed into the shop and was also set on fire.

Police have not confirmed whether the three incidents are linked but have launched an investigation. CCTV footage and forensic evidence are being reviewed as part of ongoing enquiries.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
