Man Arrested for Armed Robbery At Sydney Supermarket

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and faces multiple charges following a reported armed robbery at a supermarket in Sydney’s western suburb of Auburn.

Police responded to an incident around 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the corner of Harrow Road and Queen Street, where a man allegedly entered the store, threatened an employee with a knife, and stole various items.

Following initial investigations, officers from the Auburn area command tracked down the suspect at a residence on Chiswick Road in South Granville. The man, who was reportedly wanted on several outstanding warrants, was promptly taken into custody.

He now faces several serious charges, including robbery with an offensive weapon and two counts of aggravated break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offense. Additionally, five outstanding warrants were executed, and he was charged with eight counts of shoplifting and two counts of larceny.

The suspect was denied bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
