‘Up 68 per cent’: Supermarket customers have been hit with steep rises on three favourite buys – here’s why.
Woolworths and Coles customers have taken to social media to vent their anger over “absolutely outrageous” price rises on some Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Kirks products.
Over the past week, supermarket shoppers have been met with steep increases on the price of 2L bottles of Coke, 30-can packs of Pepsi Max and 10-packs of Kirks soft drink.
Coles and Woolworths shoppers claim the packs of Pepsi Max have increased from around $19 to as much as $32*, which is an increase of 68 per cent.
Two-litre bottles of Coca-Cola, meanwhile, have risen from around $2.85 to as much as $4.55* at leading supermarkets – a rise of 60 per cent.
Fans of Kirks 10-packs of soft drink varieties have also shared their disappointment that the popular drinks have increased from around $6 to as much as $10.80 in store and $10.55 online*.
