Two men will remain behind bars on remand for at least another two weeks after being charged with robbing a south western Sydney supermarket at gunpoint and stabbing an employee.

Ambarvale resident Scott James Chandler, 30, and Bowral local Peter Whipp, 38, appeared in Picton Court on Friday via audiovisual link after being charged with the armed robbery of a Buxton supermarket in December last year.

Police allege Chandler and Whipp were accompanied by Campbelltown resident Sean Charnley, 37, when they robbed a supermarket on East Parade in Buxton between 8.40pm and 10.45pm on Sunday, December 5.

A 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both employees of the supermarket, told Camden police they had closed the store and were walking through the carpark when three men allegedly threatened them with a firearm and a knife.

According to police, the three men pointed a gun at the victims and demanded cash before the male employee was stabbed in the hand with a knife. He did not require medical treatment for the minor hand injury.

Mr Whipp, Mr Chandler and Mr Charnley then allegedly fled the scene in a white Toyota SUV with $1700 in cash and the male employee’s wallet, which held his identification cards.

Police called on the assistance of specialist squads including the Dog Unit and Police Air, who located the vehicle within the hour. Police stopped the vehicle in an industrial estate in Ingleburn just after 10pm.

Police claim they found the three men in the car, along with the stolen cash, wallet, and knife.

All three men were charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

The police documents state Mr Whipp has been taken into custody for allegedly breaching the conditions of his parole, which are in place until December. Similarly, Mr Charnley has allegedly violated his conditional release order which is valid until September.

The court heard neither Mr Chandler nor Mr Whipp has entered pleas to the charges.

Both men have been in custody on remand since bail was refused in Picton Court on December 6.

On Friday, the court heard neither man applied for bail, which was formally refused.

Mr Chandler, Mr Whipp, and Mr Charnley are all due to appear in Picton court on February 23 to enter pleas.
