Man charged for FoodWorks robbery

A 21-year-old Park Avenue man has been charged with one count of armed robbery following a hold-up at FoodWorks in George St, Rockhampton, on Saturday, February 4.

It comes following a week-long investigation by Rockhampton Police.

Police allege a man armed with a knife entered the supermarket at about 3.50pm and threatened employees before stealing cash and fleeing down Archer Street on a scooter.

No one was injured in the incident.

The man was due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday, 13 February.

Police confirmed they are still investigating an unrelated attempted armed robbery, which saw a masked man threaten staff at a Musgrave St tobacconist with a machete on Monday, February 6.
