A Coles spokesperson has responded after the customer shared the concerning discovery on social media, leaving one user ‘traumatised’.
A Coles customer has shared photographs of an alarming discovery in a popular salad buy.
Sharing on Facebook, the shopper said he was shocked when he took a closer look at the contents of a bag of Coles Baby Spinach.
While the pack is marked “washed and ready to eat”, the shopper noted that there was a spider among the spinach leaves.
“Thanks for the surprise Coles in our baby spinach,” the customer wrote.
Expert Milan Prasad said the spider is from the Sparassidae family – commonly known as huntsman spiders – and is likely a Neosparassus.
