Do not eat: ‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice’.
A cheese sold at selected Coles and IGA stores has been recalled amid fears that it has been contaminated with E.coli.
Mortlake Organic Dairy is conducting the recall of L’Artisan Organic Marcel cheese across three states.
The product has been available for sale at independent food retailers including IGA in Victoria and Queensland, independent food retailers in South Australia, and select Coles Local stores in Victoria.
The recalled cheese has a best before marking of March 8, 2022.
Food Standards Australia says the recall is due to E.coli contamination.
“Food products contaminated with E.coli may cause illness if consumed,” Food Standards Australia has advised.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
E.coli is a bacterial infection that can lead to serious health complications. Symptoms of contamination include vomiting, fever and diarrhoea.
